Costume for The HATs Charity Pantomime

Costume for The HATs Charity Pantomime:

The Scarecrow: The Wizard of Oz

I volunteered to create the Scarecrow Costume for the HATs Charity Pantomime of 'The Wizard of Oz''. I used donated clothing and scraps from previous costumes to create this design, and it therefore cost the charity nothing. I dyed the fabric of the shirt myself and added all the patches and straw. I also created the head piece and hat myself. Head of Wardrobe wanted to add sparkle to stand out while on stage, but apart from this, i designed the whole outfit myself and the colour scheme. After fitting, the actor asked for pockets, so I was able to unpick one of the patches to make a pocket and add another on the opposite side. I was very pleased with the overall look of the oufit and thought it worked well with the other costumes.
