Clipping Masks

Clipping Masks

A clipping mask is describe by Adobe as "an object whose shape masks other artwork so that only areas that lie within the shape are visible". There is no limit to the amount of objects you can put inside a clipping mask and therefore this technique is very good for creating logos, due to its uniqueness and ability to combine at least two ideas together.

What are the advantages of doing this process digitally?
         - You are able to make changes or slight edits at a later date
         - You can adjust any mistakes without completely ruining the background photograph
         - There is a higher level of accuracy and less chance of human error
         - It is a lot quicker and yet you can experiment more digitally
         - You can easily change the area of the image you want visible
         - You are able to apply many layers and add opaque layers to the background
